How we price
You Get the Price Before Work Starts
The plumber diagnoses the problem, explains the options and gives you the price for each before doing the work. If something unexpected turns up partway through, such as a second broken section of sewer, you hear about it and approve it before the work continues.
- Options explained: repair, replace, or a temporary fix
- Permit and inspection costs included in the quote when required
- No work starts until you approve it

Comparing quotes
How to Compare Plumbing Quotes
| Ask about | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| The exact scope | Two prices for “replace sewer line” can cover very different lengths, methods and restoration. |
| Permits and inspections | Work that needs a permit should include it. Skipping it can cause problems when you sell. |
| Materials and equipment | Brand, size and type of water heater, pump or pipe. |
| Restoration | Who fills the trench, patches the drywall or replaces the concrete. |
| Warranty terms | Manufacturer warranties and what the installer covers, in writing. |
| The license | Whose license the work is done under. You can look it up on LARA. |
FAQ
Plumbing Cost Questions
Why is my quote outside the ranges above?
The ranges are typical figures from published cost guides. The same job can vary a lot from house to house: a water heater in an open basement versus a cramped closet, or a sewer line under lawn versus a driveway. Your quote reflects your house, and you get it before work starts.
Is there a charge to come out?
Yes: a $99 diagnostic fee to find the problem and price the fix. It is applied to the cost of the repair when you go ahead with the work.
Can I finance a bigger repair?
Yes. Financing is available at 25 months same as cash, on approved credit. See the financing page.
Is it cheaper to repair or replace?
Repair is usually cheaper today; replacement can be cheaper over time when an old water heater, sump pump or sewer line is failing in more than one place. You get both prices when both are reasonable options.
Are emergency calls more expensive?
Ask when you call: you always get the price before work starts. If the problem can be made safe now and finished at a scheduled visit, you will be told so you can choose.
